The official Canada shipping date for the LG G4 has been made announced as June 19th. The latest flagship handset from the South Korean electronics company is will be available with Bell, Rogers, TELUS, WIND Mobile, and Videotron.
Pricing with contract will likely be set at $199.99, with off-contract pricing of $699.99. Canadians only two choices for the G4, either the black leather, or the metallic grey finish.
Announced in early May of this year, the device improves on the G3 in just about all aspects. The LG G4 sports a 5.5-inch Quad-HD In-plane switching LCD display with 1440 x 2560 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The CPU is a Snapdragon 808 chipset with 6 cores, and an Adreno 418 is the graphics CPU.
You get 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, expandable expand up to 128 GB with an external microSD slot. Picture taking equipment on board is a 16MP back facing camera, and 8MP front-facing camera.
With Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed, and support for the future Android M OS release that will probably happen later this year, the LG G4 now becomes a viable alternative to Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge for Canadian shoppers. The high end screen and camera are key features to beat here.
We like it that LG is not afraid to buck industry trends. For example, they have kept expandable storage alive in their latest flagship Android handset, unlike Samsung, with the MicroSD slot. If or when you can find a 2 TB microSD card, this phone can handle it! Thiank about all the music that could hold for a minute.
Another example- the battery is replaceable. When it wears out, you can buy a new one and be done with it, no messing around with repairs. Also, that means you can carry a spare battery if the one battery life isn’t good enough for you (which it should be).
