The latest Palm WebOS Update Version 1.1 which was released today, restores the syncing ability for the Palm Pre with Apple's iTunes software. The Palm Pre, which was recently blocked by a new version of iTunes, can now communicate freely again with the third party software and the most popular legal source of music on the Internet.
The cat and mouse game between Palm and Apple will more than likely continue, with Apple blocking the Palm in future software releases and Palm, 'breaking back in' with its software updates.
In addition to the ability to re-sync with the Apple iTunes Store, the WebOS update also provides a few other improvements around Exchange ActiveSync, ability to remotely wipe the device, HTML messages in replies are also retained as well.
You can find a full list of changes at Palm.com. I especially love how they say "Resolves an issue preventing media sync from working with latest version of iTunes (8.2.1)." They call this an "issue" like it was some sort of coding error or bug, haha! How about: "Resolved Palm Pre being unable to sync with iTunes after Apple blocked us from doing so."
