Retailers Begin Taking Microsoft Windows 7 Preorders

As we reported yesterday, Microsoft and retailers have begun taking pre-orders for Microsoft Windows 7 (Upgrade) today at heavily discounted prices. Windows 7 Home Premium is going for $49 while Windows 7 Professional (Vista Business Equivalent) is going for $99. Pre-orders at these prices will only be going until July 11th, or while supplies last.

You can grab your upgrade at Amazon.com with free shipping OR you can purchase through the Microsoft Store and choose the download option where you can download your copy the same day it ships as well as recieve your license key.

If you don't pre-order your copy of Windows 7, you'll be looking at paying the following:

Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrade): $119.99
Windows 7 Professional (Upgrade): $199.99
Windows 7 Ultimate (Upgrade): $219.99
