YouTube XL Launched; It's YouTube For Your Tube

With Boxee, Hulu, and other online video content providers bringing video content easily to your TV, Google figured why shouldn't they? That's why Google has unveiled its latest product for YouTube, YouTube XL.

YouTube XL is basically YouTube that we all know today but using a different "skin" which is highly optimized for your television. Everything as the name implies, is bigger - hence the "XL". This makes viewing YouTube on your TV much more pleasant and easier to read and watch.

When navigating You Tube XL it will feel a lot like Hulu or Microsoft Media Center. It works fast, it's web-based, and it's free - what else would you want?

Some content is missing from YouTube XL such as community comments and other extra's found on the main YouTube web page. However, we don't think the majority of users will miss the features that have been removed. I think YouTube XL looks very clean the way it is, adding anything extra to it could make it feel slow and bloated - and that's not a good thing.

YouTube XL offers a continuous play feature, which lets you search for a topic on YouTube and then press "play" once to watch all of the videos sequentially on that topic. Also, getting from one video to the next takes just a few clicks, and you can control the action with a blue tooth enabled remote control, or even some mobile phones.

So give YouTube XL a try and see how you like it!
