DirecTV Remote Scheduling iPhone Application Released

The day has finally come, DirecTV has brought us an iPhone App that allows us to record shows from our phone anywhere in the world! Last year we talked about our favorite apps of 2008 and i.TV topped the list but with only one negative, no ability to remotely schedule shows with DirecTV. Now, DirecTV has unveiled their own app and it's much better than their web-based scheduler that was made available a couple of years ago.

Below are all the features:

• Search for any TV show up to 14 days in advance
• Browse programs by channel or date and time
• Access program information instantly including, description, length, and rating
• Record shows by a single episode or entire series
• Program Pay Per View movies to be recorded and ready to watch any time
• Record to any DirecTV DVR in your home
• Browse functionality is available to everyone
• Recording functionality is avaliable only DirecTV customers
• Runs on WiFi, 3G, or Edge networks

The DirecTV App runs on both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
