Hundreds of Twitter Accounts Hacked by Porn Spammer

Today, security engineers at Twitter discovered that 750 Twitter accounts had gotten hacked by a porn spammer who had posted tweets out to a link of a webcam site. The Twitter team reset the passwords of the compromised accounts and removed the spam updates that the intruder had made.

Twitter is urging users to only use "strong" passwords as they can help prevent accounts from being brute forced into. Twitter offers a password strength indicator to help you choose a strong password when you sign up. As always, you can change your password under your profile settings. The security team also reminds users not to share your Twitter password with users or services that you do not trust.
