Gigabyte Unveils GSmart S1200 Touchscreen Smartphone

Gigabyte, a company that most of us know for their killer motherboards, has officially entered the smartphone market. Gigabyte has unveiled an attractive chrome trimmed large WVGA display smartphone which is quite slim in size, called the S1200.

The S1200 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and it will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 6.5. It features a full 3.1 inch TFT touchscreen display supporting a 480x800 resolution. It has a Gigabyte Smart Zone user interface, SM and HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, built-in GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 3MP camera with autofocus. You'll get a beefy 528 MHz qualcomm processor, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, and a 1010 mAh battery.

The Gigabyte GSmart S1200 will go on sale Q2 of 2009 but pricing has not yet been announced. More information about the phone can be found at Gigabytecm.com.
