White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, today said that Iran's first satellite launch is cause for great concern as country continues to work towards developing long-range missiles - successfully.
"It is certainly a reason for us to be concerned about Iran and its continued attempts to develop a ballistic missile program of increasingly long range" said Geoff Morrell the Pentagon press secretary. "They pose a real threat and it is a growing threat," he said.
For the first time in the nations history, Iran has launched a satellite into orbit. The satellite named Omid, meaning "Hope", was launched into orbit using a Safir-2 rocket.
