Yahoo Closing Down Briefcase Online Storage Service

Yahoo will be closing the Yahoo Briefcase service down at the end of March this year. The company posted a message for users attempting to reach the service notify them they must delete or move off their files from the service by March 30th and after this date the files will be deleted. The briefcase service allowed users to store, access, and share files from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.

The closure of the service comes as the new Yahoo CEO, Carol Bartz is attempting to turn the failing company around into the right direction. Clearly, the online storage service that briefcase was offering is not competitive since it only offers users 30MB of capacity - it's a service that users and Yahoo could live with out right now as they begin to get back on track.

In related news, Google is preparing its GDrive online storage system to be released hopefully sometime this year. The service will more than likely provide users 10Gb or more of storage space and will utilize storage space from your GMail account and picasa account - allowing each service to share the single space.

As we wait for the GDrive to become avaliable, users should delete or download all of their briefcase content - all 30MB worth of it. We only hope you can find a space to store it.
