Microsoft Tag Released for iPhone and Other Phones

A couple weeks ago Microsoft released the Seadragon iPhone App and this week they are at it again but this time they introduce iPhone users to Microsoft Tag. Microsoft Tag for the Apple iPhone allows you to interact instantly with printed advertising, billboards, product packages, information signs, in-store merchandising or even video images. With the Microsoft Tag application, just aim your camera phone at a Tag and instantly access mobile content, videos, music, contact information, maps, social networks, promotions, and more. Nothing to type, no browsers to launch!

How does it work? The Microsoft Tag Reader uses your phone's built-in camera to capture a "Tag". On some phones you merely need to aim your camera at the Tag but on others you may need to aim and click. The Tag is decoded and the action associated with the Tag takes place.

It not only works with the iPhone, but with Windows Mobile, J2ME, Blackberry and Symbian S60 phones. Of course you will need a camera on your phone and Internet access for the Tag software to work.

To get Microsoft Tag for your phone open up your web browser on your phone and surf over to gettag.mobi and the application will download and install free of charge.
