Microsoft Says Halo Wars Ships Feb 28th

Halo fans should rejoice this year, as Microsoft said that the new Halo Wars game would ship to retailers on Feb. 28th. The new addition to the Halo family, Halo Wars, will come with a T Rating which means its suitable for teens 13 and older, while the rest of the Halo product line were rated M for Mature.

The new rating will hopefully open up the Halo game to more people and parents should feel better to know that it has a better rating. The T-rating "will expand the universe of people we reach," said Robbie Bach of the Microsoft Entertainment and Devices division.

Halo Wars is a real-time strategy game that uses species and vehicles seen in previous Halo games as well as new units. he game's lead developer, Graeme Devine, has said that the emphasis is more on combat than economy; it is necessary for the player to "manage a battle instead of watching it", and while resources are still present they also have alternative forms such as time and the number of units present. Some campaign missions will take the focus off resources but skirmish and multiplayer matches still require some management of an economy.

In related news, the Xbox Live Network has reached 17 million people and content downloads are up 60%. So we don't think you'll have a problem finding other gamers to play Halo Wars with.
