EVE Online Reaches Record Concurrent Users

According to the Official EVE Online Blog, the game has reached a new record of Peak Concurrent Users, 45,186 players on a single server. "While we've made tremendous serverside changes in the EVE Online infrastructure with the EVE64 and StacklessIO initiatives, it is truly a testament to our loyal fans that 5 years into EVE's existence we are still breaking records and more people are flying in New Eden than ever before." - the blog stated.

Having a lot of players on the same server is one of the things that most veteran MMO players look for, at least I do. Having reached that many players on a server means that EVE Online is doing quite well and is still growing in size. We beta tested the game when it was still in closed beta and really enjoyed it. We may take another look at it today to see how it has evolved. If you've been playing since the beginning perhaps you can share your knowledge of how the game has changed over time?
