Your next HP Notebook may have new Green Super Batteries, if you purchase it next year. According to HP the new super batteries, made by Boston-Power Inc, will have nearly twice the battery life of existing notebook batteries and will recharge in only 30 minutes. Furthermore, the new green batteries will run "like new" for up to three year unlike current batteries that seems to lose their charging capacity after a year or so.
The relatively new startup, Boston-Power is drawing a lot of interest in consumer electronics and the hybrid and electric car markets. They have pulled in $68 Million of investment capital and have expanded to over 500 employees. Their new contract with HP will surely help the growth of their company and the market of their Green Super Batteries. HP has suggested that their EliteBook notebook model may be able to run for 24 hours on the new batteries.
Already own an HP notebook? There is good news for you as well! Existing owners will also have access to the new batteries as a replacement option.
Consumers depend on their notebook computers as much as they do because they enable mobility whether being used for leisure or work activities, said Boston-Power Founder and CEO Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud. To truly empower users with that type of flexibility, batteries have to last longer and provide more dependable performance. Sonata delivers these benefits while staying true to Boston-Powers commitment to environmentally sustainable products. Were thrilled to be teaming with HP to bring Sonata to market.
